Join our DCGS-A Engineering Sustainment team responsible for taking multiple software systems delivered by developers and vendors, and merging them into a functional system of systems.  In the integration team, we closely interface with multiple stakeholders in the development and fielding processes to ensure standards compliance with requirements and best practices.


As an Integration Engineer with a focus on Cross Domain Systems Suite (CDSS), RTGS, TCSP and DCGS-A you will be part of a team that receives release candidate complete systems and integrates them as cohesive components into the DCGS-A family of products.  Specifically, you will:

  • Analyze received systems (operating system, patches and applications) and ensure Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) resolution and accurate accounting for component software versioning
  • Install and test systems on physical and virtual machines to assure proper functionality, focusing on verifying proper behavior after software and configuration changes
  • Resolve noted issues by developing custom scripts and software, and/or technical documentation solutions as dictated by the nature of the issue and the desired outcome
  • Work with systems vendors, software developers, and configuration management staff to fully integrate systems into the DCGS-A family of systems.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience is required
  • At least 2 years’ experience with UNIX (preferably Oracle Solaris), Linux (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux) administration, and Puppet
  • At least 2 years software development experience in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge networking technology in support of software testing
  • Demonstrated experience in creating step by step technical documentation (i.e. installation instructions or “readme” files)
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills with multiple levels of stakeholders
  • Must be self-starter, willing to take complete ownership of complex technical problems
  • Should be able to think clearly and articulate with appropriate level of abstraction his/her thought process on complex technological issues
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 qualified on first day of work (i.e. Security+) and additional computing environment certification within 6 months
  • Active TS-SCI Security Clearance  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and Subversion (Apache)
  • Experience with Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux)
  • Linux and/or Oracle Solaris certification (i.e. Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, OCA, OCP)
  • Microsoft Windows administration experience
  • Networking certification (N+, CCNA)
  • Familiarity with project management principles (i.e. PMI, ITIL, CMMI, AGILE)
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience working in / managing a VMware virtualized DoD lab environment
