Responsibilities

Join our DCGS-A integration Tools Development team. The Integration Tools & Support Team provides professional development, software engineering and maintenance of applications and tools that provide services to SEC ISD.  The team supports all service areas in ISD by creating tools for business and mission systems.  This team implements professional engineering practices to create capabilities that increase efficiencies, reduce risk and reduce overall mission costs across the division.

Responsibilities

As a tools team software developer you will work as a member of a team to create tools in support of a technically adept user base. The tools developed will be SharePoint and JavaScript/JQuery heavy as well as programs written in object-oriented languages such as C# or Java.   Specifically, you will:

  • Check the ticket system for new break fix issues with supported software products
  • Resolve noted issues by developing custom scripts and software, and/or technical documentation solutions as dictated by the nature of the issue and the desired outcome
  • Provide functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software systems, including, but not limited to application software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software.
  • Participate in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems in support of the tools
  • Solve engineering problems (or managing the solution of engineering problems) in the functional area to which assigned
  • Participate in working backlog items for supported software in a prioritized work order
  • Work with government and contract stakeholders to refine requirement documents in support of new tools
  • Work with systems vendors, software developers, and configuration management staff to fully integrate software developed into the development and production networks.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 9 years of professional work experience is required
  • At least 4 years’ experience with SharePoint (preferably SharePoint 2010 and 2013) or another knowledge management tool at the developer level
  • At least 3 years software development experience in scripting (JS, Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in a coding language such as JAVA, C#, or others
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • Extensive experience developing single page applications leveraging asynchronous transactions
  • Familiarity with object oriented JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience in creating step by step technical documentation (i.e. installation instructions or “readme” files)
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills with multiple levels of stakeholders
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 qualified on first day of work (i.e. Security+CE) and additional computing environment certification within 6 months
  • Active TS-SCI Security Clearance  

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD 8570 qualifying Certification in a coding language or supporting OS / DB
  • Familiarity with jQuery, Google Lovefield, require.js, AngularJS, or other prominent JavaScript libraries and frameworks
  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server and MSDN
  • Experience with MSDN Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Specific understanding of any member of the DCGS-A family of systems
  • Experience with nosql databased such as Hadoop
